How do you go from “Woah, that looks cool ?” to “Oh, I think I can do that?” —————————————— I saw this movement somewhere in the murky depths of #movementculture yesterday and thought it looked fun. —————————————— So…1) Ensure your joints can do SLOW what you’re about to ask them to do FAST. Controlled articular rotations let me check in with whether or not my joints know how to make those shapes. 2) Break down the composite parts. Seemed like a rotation into bridge and a handstand were pieces of the puzzle…luckily I can do those things. 3) Play. Explore. You will mess up. You will fall. It won’t look polished at the first go, but hey…you learned how to walk, right? Iteration with variation is the name of the game for motor skill acquisition.
