Low Plyos

LOW #PLYO Positions that are low to the ground are the least controlled as we transition into adulthood and old age. Because we don’t spend time close to the ground, we lose the ability to move there and eventually develop a fear of falling. TRANSLATION=GET LOW. These lateral bounding, low plyometrics have been making an appearance in my #barefoot Monday movement practice for the last month or so. It has a high stability demand through the shoulders,  as well as functional hip mobility/strength through the hips. Free arm movement should facilitate trunk rotation and hip loading. Powerful reaching of the trailing leg, both across and behind the loaded hip will place demand on the rooted leg. As a whole, it will have you feeling a little closer to your true animal nature. #Hips #exploremovement #functionalmovement #Legs #biomechanics #hipmobility #pelvis #animalflow #naturalmovement #movementcontrol #functionalfitness  #healthandwellness #athlete #mobility #flexibility #Fascia #strengthandconditioning #trainbetter #kinesiology #fitness #thousandoaks #westlakevillage #calabasas #newburypark #805 #conejovalley #gfunctional

LOW STANCE #PLYOMETRICS This is an expansion on my low plyo post from about a month ago. Once you have built up some sensitivity and control in your “low to the ground” positions, the next logical step is to incorporate Level Change. This should technically be considered a two level change, as I am going from 3 point to 1 point stance. No two sides rotate the same and rotation is the key to this little number. Use the arm swing to facilitate powerful trunk rotation and hip loading. “HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH?” If it makes you find that sweet spot on your stance leg at the top, it’s enough. Use your intuition. #exploremovement #functionalmovement #posture #biomechanics #barefoot #Running #naturalmovement #movementcontrol #plyo #functionalfitness #healthandwellness #athlete #mobility #flexibility #Fascia #AnatomyTrains #strengthandconditioning #trainbetter #kinesiology #movement #thousandoaks #westlakevillage #calabasas #newburypark #805 #conejovalley #Moorpark #gfunctional
