Barbells and other gym equipment are tools which you can use in whichever manner you’d like- for whatever, you’d like.

Grip training, coordination, stability, rotational strength, shoulder/spine strength/flexibility/mobility, etc. can be some of the words and terms to throw out there for those who need to defend the real reason anyone would want to use it in this particular instance: “because it’s intriguing, cool, and I want to see if I can do it”.

Nobody says they want to learn how to do a handstand because they want to train shoulder/trap strength and wrist extension flexibility.

The exploration and experimentation of possibilities is a wonderful gateway and start to becoming attuned with one’s body and realizing one’s potential.

Potential and practice builds the confidence and abilities that drive an ongoing journey of moving better. At least for some. Others are driven by numbers on specific recognizable exercises and so forth, and that’s just fine too.

While there’s value in traditional recognizable gym exercises, there’s also value in movement and exercises that aren’t so popular and recognizable. This reel/post is for the folks who appreciate or are curious of the latter. And, quite frankly, are capable of reading captions.

Happy exploring and staying interested in -your- movement/fitness path.
