first : the space in relation to me and myself in relation to the space. – The self inquiry approach : if I am not able to move myself comfortably throughout space and find my own orientations of movement, it would be robbing myself of information that I may find resourceful later on in regard to my partner. – Information on how I can move myself gives me a great resource of information on how my partner may move. Although we will always move in slightly varied ways due to different limb lengths and other anatomical differences; it is immensely insightful to learn how to move oneself prior to engaging in fully resisted partner exchanges | @thenomadicid – #nomadicid #jitsjamming #flowmotion #freepartnering #IAmHyperfly #YCTH

second : energy, intention and risk – self inquiry approach : what is the purpose behind my movement? Where is my center of mass? Do I feel anchored into one position? Am I mobile in this position and free to transition easily to something else? Is this move safe to perform? Am I able to bail out of a move without damaging impact? How much energy am I investing into this move? How can my energy influence my directionality? – Deconstruct the idea of vectors v scalar in your movement. – Visualise your risks – how can we create a self supporting structure with our limbs? Support starts from our own internal structures. Our bone structure – think about the idea of stacking joints on top of one another comparing this idea to building a house and starting with a strong foundation to then build and stack materials on top of. First we must support our own weight before supporting another. Take each idea into its own level. A foreign body from yours will not always remain static and passive. A weak structure cannot support the attack and resistance that is yet to come. Start from yourself. Question yourself. – It truly begins with you | @thenomadicid – #nomadicid #jitsjamming #flowmotion #freepartnering #IAmHyperfly
